Children’s Painting Contest Honors President Ton Duc Thang - Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art

A painting contest entitled, “Children and President Ton Duc Thang” has will be held to celebrate the late president's 120th birthday on August 20.
The competition is expected to attract 450 children between 5 and 14 years of age in the city. The award presentation will take place at Ton Duc Thang Museum on August 9, said organizing board.

The event was organized by the Ton Duc Thang Museum, the Ho chi minh city Fine Art Association, HCMC Children’s Cultural House and HCMC Fine Art University also marks 20th founding anniversary of Ton Duc Thang Museum.

Mr. Thang was president from 1969 until his death in 1980. He was a nationalist and Communist and served as vice president to President Ho Chi Minh.

The Ton Duc Thang Museum was established on the occasion of the late President Thang's centenary in 1988.  The museum has more than 600 items, documents and photos relating to the life of Mr. Thang, who is remembered as a great patriot and a model fighter

The Viet nam Education Foundation Fellows Association (VEFFA) and Ha noi University of Technology (HUT) will jointly open a library tomorrow.
