Thank to typical features, waterways in the Mekong Delta are attractive for not only international travelers but also locals.

The natural countryside landscapes make the region a good choice listed in travelers' itinerary once visiting the country; and it is also a destination for expatriates and white-color workers unwinding after a week loaded with works as well as escaping the heat and bustling city in the weekend.

Catching such a demand, tour operator Saigontourist is putting on a promotion highlighting tours, which are designed from half to two days, for sightseeing the Mekong Delta region and for health care from now until September 30.

Among the tours, a full-day tour to My Tho is a must-try trip for those who want to touch the dally rural life. As designed, the tour will take visitors cruising on the Mekong River and then riding on a hand-rowed sampan through small inlets under a green canopy of Water coconuts trees to catch a glimpse of the local people.

The trip will take travelers to an orchard islet to observe the pastoral life and then enjoy coconut milk, seasonal fruits, honey tea and lunch in which they will be treated to countryside delicacies. The tour is priced at US$45 per person.

Meanwhile, a one-day tour to Vinh long is designed for weekend departures. After a 3-hour drive, a tourist boat will take tourists to Cai Be Floating Market where they can watch the market activities on boats.

Then the trip will continue to Binh Hoa Phuoc Islet where visitors will be fascinated by its maze of shady creeks, and where they even have the chance to mingle with local peasants, learn the secrets of their bonsai gardening and take a look at local products.

In addition, travelers will have a chance to taste a typical Vietnamese lunch at a local home. Price for the tour is at US$55 per person.

Once travelers have more time, a tour called Deeper Mekong Delta designed with two days and one night could be an option for their trip to the region.

As designed, the tour will take visitors deeper into the Mekong Delta to explore the vast rice fields and waters of Vinh Long and Can tho The first day is featured with a sightseeing trip on Binh Hoa Phuoc Islet to visit a workshop producing boats or bricks, and bonsai gardens; Travelers will stay overnight there in a 3-star accommodation.

The second day is really exotic with a chance to join Phong Dien or Cai Rang Floating Market, a visit to an orchard to enjoy some tropical fruit as well as a visit at a one-hundred-year-old house. Like the previous tour, a lunch with regional specialties will be served. The tour is priced at US$135 per person.

Besides the above Mekong Delta tours, Saigontourist also organizes half-day tours that help travelers relax with heath care in a high-end spa and feel sportive in a modern golf course.
